Afghanistan, May 11 -- Iran said on Monday that its response to a United States proposal aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East was "fair and generous," after US President Donald Trump described Tehran's reply as unacceptable.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told a news conference that Tehran's response included demands for an end to the war, lifting what he called a blockade and releasing Iranian assets frozen abroad under US sanctions pressure.
Baghaei also said Iran had called for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and restoring stability in Lebanon as part of its response to Washington's proposal for ending hostilities and resuming broader diplomatic understandings.
