Afghanistan, Aug. 3 -- Iran has said that it is not currently engaged in any negotiations with the United States, pushing back against recent speculation that Tehran and Washington could return to the negotiating table after months of heightened tensions.
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, told reporters on Monday, August 3, that Tehran has no plans in the coming days to host a foreign delegation or send representatives to another country for talks.
"We do not intend to host a delegation these days or participate as a guest in another country," Baghaei said, without providing further details about whether diplomatic contacts could resume at a later stage.
