Afghanistan, July 11 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that newly imposed U.S. sanctions against Tehran violate commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, as diplomatic efforts continue amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent military clashes.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday, July 11, that the latest U.S. sanctions against Iran breach commitments made under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.

In a post on X, Araghchi said Iran had continued to fulfill its obligations under the agreement and accused the U.S. Treasury Department of violating Article 9 of the memorandum by imposing new sanctions on Tehran.
