Afghanistan, July 31 -- Iran's armed forces said Friday they had launched a drone attack on the US military presence at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, describing the operation as retaliation for recent US strikes on Iranian targets.
Iranian state media said the attack targeted satellite communications equipment and ammunition storage facilities at the base. Tehran has previously said US military sites in Kuwait are among the targets of its retaliatory operations.
The latest claim came after a new wave of US strikes on Iran and follows earlier Iranian attacks on US-linked facilities in Kuwait and other Gulf states. Kuwait has repeatedly reported intercepting Iranian missiles and drones in its airspace.
