Afghanistan, July 26 -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stopped six vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours, Iranian media reported on Sunday, as tensions remain high around the strategic waterway.
According to the reports, the IRGC fired warning shots to halt the vessels after Iranian authorities said they were travelling outside a route designated by Tehran. Four additional ships were reportedly stopped on Saturday over what Iranian authorities described as "unauthorised" passage.
The reports did not identify the vessels or provide details about their nationalities. It was also unclear whether the ships were later allowed to continue their journeys.
