Afghanistan, June 23 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday at the head of a senior delegation, a day after the first round of high-level U.S.-Iran negotiations in Switzerland, where mediators outlined a framework aimed at advancing a broader agreement between the two countries.
Pezeshkian was received at Islamabad airport by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. During the visit, he is expected to hold talks on bilateral relations, regional security, trade, energy cooperation and the outcome of recent diplomatic efforts involving Washington and Tehran.
