Afghanistan, July 7 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that negotiations on a final nuclear agreement would not begin until threats against Iran end and existing commitments are honored.

Writing on X, Araghchi said negotiations on a final agreement remain conditional on the end of threats against Iran, citing Clause 13 of an existing understanding between the parties. He urged the other side to fulfill the commitments it had already accepted before talks on a final deal could begin.

"The commitment you signed must be honored," Araghchi wrote, without identifying a specific country. His comments appeared to refer to ongoing diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States over Tehran's nuclear programme.
