Afghanistan, May 12 -- Iran said Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will attend the upcoming BRICS foreign ministers' meeting in India as Tehran seeks to deepen diplomatic and economic ties within the bloc.
Iran's Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi would participate in the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting scheduled to be held in India.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told Iran's Mehr News Agency that Tehran viewed the meeting as important and expected Araghchi to hold bilateral talks with several participating ministers, including India's foreign minister.
The exact date of the BRICS meeting has not yet been officially announced.
