Afghanistan, Aug. 20 -- Iran has executed Ghaem Hosseini, an Afghan national, in a case linked to the January 2026 protests in Isfahan, according to Iran's judiciary-affiliated Mizan News Agency.
Mizan reported that Hosseini was executed early Thursday and accused him of drawing a weapon, creating fear, attacking people and threatening national security. Iranian authorities also accused him of taking part in an incident in which four police officers were killed during protests at Alikhani Square in Isfahan on Jan. 8.
