Afghanistan, March 19 -- Iran's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned the killing of Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, calling it a "heinous crime" and demanding a firm response from the United Nations to Israeli and U.S. military attacks.

In a statement, the ministry said such "terrorist" actions would not weaken Iran's determination to defend its security and national interests. It also stressed that the UN, the Security Council and the secretary-general had a responsibility to respond decisively.
