Afghanistan, Feb. 24 -- Iran's ambassador to Pakistan on Tuesday urged restraint and dialogue as tensions escalated between Islamabad and the Taliban following recent cross-border airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan.
Speaking at the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam warned that continued confrontation would benefit no one and could destabilize the wider region.
The envoy said war serves neither side's interests and argued that common enemies of Iran and Pakistan are actively promoting separatism and regional insecurity.
He emphasized that strong coordination between Tehran and Islamabad continues in regional and international forums despite the current tensions.
