Afghanistan, Oct. 10 -- India has upgraded its Kabul mission to a full-fledged embassy, announcing new direct flights, expanded development projects, and increased humanitarian aid to strengthen engagement with Afghanistan.

India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has announced the landmark upgrade of India's diplomatic mission in Kabul from a technical set-upto a full-fledged Embassy during maiden visit of Afghanistan's Interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Friday. He further announced additional flights between Kabul and New Delhi and consignment of food supplies.
