Afghanistan, Aug. 9 -- India's air force chief says five Pakistani fighter jets and one military aircraft were shot down in May clashes, mostly using Russian-made S-400 air defense systems.

India's Air Force chief said on Saturday that the country shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and one other military aircraft during clashes in May, marking New Delhi's first official statement after the most intense military confrontation with Islamabad in decades.

Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh stated that most of the aircraft were downed using Russian-made S-400 air defense systems. Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, he added that electronic tracking data confirmed the kills.
