Afghanistan, May 24 -- Hibatullah Akhundzada urged Taliban officials on Sunday to avoid oppression and mistreatment of the people of Afghanistan, warning in an Eid al-Adha message that oppression ultimately leads to humiliation and defeat.
In a statement published by Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on X, Akhundzada called on Afghans to make sacrifices to preserve what he described as the Taliban's "Islamic system" and maintain unity in support of the administration.
The Taliban leader also stressed the need to resist what he called the "malicious intentions of enemies" and said the group seeks relations with all countries, especially Islamic nations, based on its interpretation of Islamic law.
