Afghanistan, Aug. 11 -- Greta Thunberg will join an international flotilla departing August 31 to challenge Israel's 18-year Gaza blockade, alongside coordinated protests in over 44 countries.

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who was previously detained by Israeli authorities, announced on Sunday, August 10, that she will join a new flotilla aiming to break the Gaza naval blockade.

According to Al Jazeera, the flotilla, named Samoud ("Steadfastness"), is scheduled to depart from Spain on August 31. On September 4, it will be joined by boats from Tunisia and other ports, making it the largest effort yet to challenge Israel's 18-year blockade of Gaza.
