Lufthansa said it will suspend around 20,000 short-haul flights until October due to rising energy costs and concerns over jet fuel availability.
The airline said operations will be consolidated at major hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, aiming to reduce costs and better manage fuel consumption.
Company officials said the move is expected to save significant volumes of jet fuel, while current reserves are sufficient only for the coming weeks.
