Afghanistan, Aug. 24 -- Germany has contributed €6.8 million (about $7.96 million) to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund as humanitarian needs continue to deepen across the country, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.

The contribution will support life-saving humanitarian operations for vulnerable Afghan families affected by poverty, food insecurity, displacement and other ongoing crises. The Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund channels donor resources to humanitarian partners to help deliver assistance where needs are greatest.
