Afghanistan, May 24 -- Afghanistan continues to face deadly weather disasters after heavy rains, flash floods, lightning and dust storms killed at least 28 people and injured 10 others across several provinces during the past 48 hours, according to Taliban disaster management authorities.

The Taliban's National Disaster Management Authority said around 100 families were directly affected, while 176 houses were completely destroyed and another 534 homes suffered partial damage during the severe weather.

Authorities added that nearly 10 kilometers of roads, about 1,956 jeribs of agricultural land and around 70 solar panels were also destroyed, causing further economic losses in vulnerable rural communities.
