Afghanistan, Oct. 15 -- Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) party, has offered to mediate between Islamabad and the Taliban to help reduce rising tensions following deadly border clashes.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Fazlur Rehman said his party was ready to play a "constructive role" in de-escalating hostilities. He noted that he had previously mediated between the two sides and was again prepared to do so "in the interest of peace and regional stability."
