Afghanistan, March 24 -- Ursula von der Leyen has warned that rising oil and gas prices highlight the urgent need to resume negotiations with Iran to reduce tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Canberra, she said the time had come to de-escalate the conflict and return to diplomacy, stressing that the current crisis is affecting businesses and communities worldwide.
