Afghanistan, March 19 -- The European Union's mission for Afghanistan has extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to the people of the country, wishing Afghan families peace, happiness and comfort as they mark the holiday.
In a post published Wednesday night on X, the EU mission said that with the sighting of the moon and the end of the holy month of Ramadan, it sends its warmest congratulations to every citizen of Afghanistan.
The message added that the EU hopes Eid al-Fitr will bring a new season of light, joy and calm for everyone across the country after a month of fasting and prayer.
The bloc also said it stands with the people of Afghanistan "today and every day," repeating its message of continued solidarity with ordinary Afghans.
