Afghanistan, Sept. 24 -- The European Union has allocated €4 million to sustain the UN Humanitarian Air Service in Afghanistan, ensuring vital aid flights reach remote communities.
The European Union has allocated €4 million (US$4.6 million) to the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) in Afghanistan, the World Food Programme (WFP) confirmed on Tuesday.
The WFP said the funding will guarantee the continuation of flights that are crucial for moving humanitarian workers and delivering life-saving assistance to remote and hard-to-reach areas across the country.
