Afghanistan, Aug. 19 -- Egypt on Wednesday condemned Israeli airstrikes on the Abu al-Duhur military airbase in Syria's Idlib province, describing the attacks as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.
Egypt's Foreign Ministry said Cairo categorically rejects what it described as Israel's repeated violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and warned that continued attacks could contribute to further instability in the country.
The condemnation followed Israeli strikes on Abu al-Duhur on Tuesday. Reuters reported that eight airstrikes hit the airbase's runway and storage areas, causing material damage but no reported casualties. Israel did not immediately comment on the strikes.
