Afghanistan, March 7 -- Drone attacks targeted the Saudi capital Riyadh and surrounding areas early Saturday, raising fresh security concerns amid rising regional tensions and ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
According to the Associated Press, several drones struck near Riyadh and a major oil facility in the early hours of March 7, triggering air defense responses.
Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed all drones that entered the kingdom's airspace, preventing significant damage or casualties.
Reports said the Shaybah Oil Field was among the targets of the drone attack. The site is one of Saudi Arabia's key oil facilities.
