Pakistani authorities said the death toll from the explosion at a Shia mosque in Islamabad has risen to 31 people, with casualties expected to increase.
According to Express Tribune, 169 people were injured in the blast, and many victims were transported to hospitals for urgent treatment.
The explosion occurred during Friday prayers at the Khadija-tul-Kubra Imambargah in Islamabad's Tarlai area, when worshippers had gathered in large numbers.
