Afghanistan, Oct. 15 -- China urged Afghanistan's Taliban and Pakistan to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and projects after recent border clashes raised security concerns for Beijing's regional investments.

China said on Wednesday it was "deeply concerned" about escalating violence along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border following recent clashes between Taliban and Pakistani forces, warning that continued hostilities could endanger Chinese nationals and major investment projects in the region.
