Afghanistan, Sept. 27 -- China, Russia, Iran and Pakistan issued a joint statement opposing any return of foreign troops to Afghanistan, warning such moves threaten regional peace and security.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has announced that China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan oppose the redeployment of foreign troops to military bases in Afghanistan, calling it harmful to regional peace and security.
Speaking on Friday, Jiakun said the four countries made their position clear in a joint communique following the fourth quadrilateral meeting of their foreign ministers.
