Afghanistan, June 10 -- Canadian police have charged a former Air Canada pilot with fraud and forgery-related offenses after alleging he commanded more than 900 domestic and international flights over a 17-year period without holding the airline transport pilot license (ATPL) required to serve as a commercial airline captain.
Police in Ontario's Peel Region said Tuesday that Jeffrey Wall, 59, was arrested following an investigation into allegations that he used falsified documents to mislead Air Canada and Canadian aviation authorities about his qualifications. Authorities said Wall held a commercial pilot license but did not possess the ATPL, the highest certification required for captains operating commercial passenger aircraft.
