Afghanistan, Oct. 8 -- A California couple with at least 21 children, most of whom were born through surrogacy, have been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged child abuse scheme at their mansion in Arcadia, Los Angeles County authorities said.
According to ABC News, Guojun Xuan, 66, and Silvia Zhang, 39, were arrested Tuesday following a 17-month investigation. Prosecutors allege that multiple live-in nannies physically abused at least 15 children, including 14 born through surrogacy, with the couple allegedly encouraging or monitoring the abuse. Fifteen children were removed from the home last year and six others living elsewhere were subsequently located.
