Afghanistan, June 27 -- The body of a senior Tajik regional official has been recovered from the Panj River more than a week after the vehicle carrying him and four others plunged into the river along the border with Afghanistan, Tajik media reported on Friday.
According to Tajik media, citing the country's Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan, the body of Alisher Mirzo Nabot, governor of Tajikistan's Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, was found about 20 kilometers downstream from the crash site in the Panj River.
