Afghanistan, May 28 -- Bangladesh authorities have rescued a rare white albino buffalo known locally as "Trump" from being sacrificed during Eid al-Adha and plan to transfer the animal to the national zoo in Dhaka, officials said.
The buffalo, named after U.S. President Donald Trump because of its pale hair and unusual appearance, gained widespread attention on social media after videos of the animal circulated online ahead of the Eid festival.
Officials from Bangladesh's Home Ministry said large crowds had gathered near the animal's holding area, raising concerns about public safety and the buffalo's welfare.
