Afghanistan, Sept. 23 -- Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev said Afghanistan has the potential to become a regional hub for trade, transit and energy if regional cooperation expands, emphasizing the country's strategic location between Central and South Asia.
Rafiyev made the remarks during a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Afghanistan, held on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. According to Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, he reaffirmed Baku's support for the OIC Contact Group's efforts to promote peace, stability and economic development in Afghanistan.
