Afghanistan, Oct. 7 -- Australia's opposition Liberal-National Coalition has unveiled plans for a major reduction in migration if it wins the 2028 federal election, with Opposition Leader Angus Taylor pledging to cut net overseas migration to 100,000 a year during the first two years of a Coalition government.

Under the proposed policy, net overseas migration would then rise to 130,000 in the third year and 160,000 in the fourth year. The Coalition also plans to reduce temporary visas by 650,000 over four years, describing the measures as the biggest cut to immigration in Australian history.
