Afghanistan, Aug. 10 -- At least 23 Palestinians have died and over 120 injured in Gaza due to air-dropped aid, prompting urgent calls for safer humanitarian delivery methods.

The Gaza Media Office says that since the start of the war in the enclave, at least 23 Palestinians have been killed and 124 others injured due to air-dropped humanitarian aid. According to the office, some aid packages fell into the sea, where 13 Palestinians drowned while trying to retrieve them.

The office reported on Saturday, August 9, that many aid packages land in areas under Israeli military control, putting those who attempt to collect them at risk of Israeli attacks.
