Afghanistan, April 2 -- Human rights groups and media advocates have raised alarm after American freelance journalist Shelly Kittleson was abducted in Baghdad, intensifying concerns over the safety of reporters working in conflict-hit regions.

Amnesty International USA has expressed deep concern over the abduction of Kittleson, saying her whereabouts and condition remain unknown after she was seized in the Iraqi capital. The rights group urged both Iraqi and American authorities to act immediately to secure her release and ensure accountability for those behind the incident.
