Afghanistan, Aug. 22 -- Former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has congratulated Aisha Wahab on becoming the first Afghan American elected to the US Congress, describing her historic victory as proof of the ability, talent, and leadership potential of Afghan women and girls.
In a message posted on X on Saturday, Karzai said Wahab's victory in what he described as an "unequal contest" reflects the competence of Afghan women when they are given opportunities to participate in public life.
