Afghanistan, Aug. 12 -- Afghan and Pakistani traders say continued tensions between the two countries and the closure of key commercial crossings are disrupting trade and damaging businesses on both sides, with no firm agreement yet to reopen the main routes.
Junaid Ismail, head of the Pakistan section of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said traders were continuing talks with Pakistani officials over the reopening of commercial and transit routes.
"There are now some signs that the transit routes may be reopened," Ismail stated, while cautioning that more work was needed before trade could resume normally.
