Afghanistan, Sept. 30 -- A nationwide internet blackout in Afghanistan has alarmed diaspora communities, leaving millions disconnected, families abroad cut off from loved ones, and raising urgent concerns over education and freedoms.

Afghanistan has plunged into a nationwide internet shutdown, cutting off more than 43 million people from online access and leaving families and communities in distress.

CNN reported that the blackout has disrupted media operations and online learning, particularly for girls who had relied on digital classrooms after Taliban school bans.

Civil society activists warned the shutdown could wipe out one of the last remaining avenues for Afghan girls' education, already restricted under Taliban policies.
