Afghanistan, Aug. 7 -- Afghanistan's national futsal team concluded its campaign at the Continental Futsal Championship with a dominant 6-1 victory over New Zealand in its fourth and final match of the tournament.
The win, played on Thursday, August 6, marked Afghanistan's first victory in the competition. Omid Qanbari scored twice, while Javad Haidari and Mehran Gholami were among the players who found the net as Afghanistan produced one of its strongest performances of the tournament.
The result came after Afghanistan recorded two defeats against Thailand and Vietnam and a draw against Russia in its previous matches. The team finished the competition with one win, one draw and two losses.
