Afghanistan, Sept. 15 -- Rights groups reported that Iranian authorities executed Afghan couple Hadiqa Abadi and Younes Mazarshams in Qazvin Prison on September 13 after drug-related convictions.
Human rights organization Hengaw has reported that an Afghan couple, Hadiqa Abadi and Younes Mazarshams, were executed on Thursday, September 11, in Qazvin Central Prison, Iran.
The couple, originally from Herat, had lived in Iran for nearly two decades, working as caretakers in Karaj's Taleghan district before their arrest four years ago.
They were convicted on drug-related charges and sentenced to death in a joint case. According to Hengaw, they were detained along with their three children.
