Afghanistan, April 6 -- At least 71 migrants were reported missing in the central Mediterranean after a boat carrying 105 people capsized while trying to reach Europe from Libya, according to rescue groups. Two bodies were recovered and 32 survivors were rescued, in what aid organisations described as the latest deadly tragedy along one of the world's most dangerous migration routes.

The Italian charity Mediterranea Saving Humans and the German rescue group Sea-Watch said the survivors were transferred to an Italian coast guard vessel and later taken to the island of Lampedusa. The groups said the boat had departed Libya on Saturday and overturned in a search-and-rescue zone overseen by Libyan authorities.
