Afghanistan, Aug. 15 -- At least 46 people were killed and 200 remain missing after sudden flash floods hit Kishtwar in Indian-administered Kashmir, sweeping away pilgrims and infrastructure.

Indian authorities say at least 46 people have been killed and around 200 others are missing after sudden, heavy rainfall triggered flash floods in Indian-administered Kashmir. The disaster struck on Thursday in Kishtwar town, in the Chasoti area of the region.

An official said the floodwaters swept away a community kitchen and a nearby security post. Both structures were destroyed within minutes as torrents surged through the area.
