Afghanistan, May 14 -- Thousands of students across Afghanistan sat for the first round of the country's 1405 university entrance examinations on Thursday, as the nationwide Kankor process officially began in 15 provinces and five examination zones in Badakhshan.
The National Examination Authority said the exams started under the supervision of local officials, monitoring teams and university lecturers, with question papers opened in the presence of candidates to ensure transparency.
