Afghanistan, July 31 -- The bodies of 14 Afghan nationals who went missing while attempting to travel illegally to Iran have been found in southwestern Nimroz province, according to reports.
Abdulmutawakel Tohidi, spokesperson for the Taliban-appointed governor of Nimroz, told Khaama Press that the 14 young men had disappeared while trying to enter Iran through smuggling routes.
Tohidi said the 14 were part of a larger group of 19 young men who lost their way in the desert while travelling toward Iran. The bodies of five others from the same group had previously been found, bringing the reported death toll from the group to 19.
According to Tohidi, the migrants died from extreme heat and a lack of water after becoming lost in the desert....
