Afghanistan, Feb. 26 -- At least 129 journalists and media workers were killed globally in 2025, most in conflict zones, the Committee to Protect Journalists said.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said 129 journalists and media workers were killed worldwide in 2025, marking one of the deadliest years for the press in recent times.
According to a report cited by Agence France-Presse on Wednesday, Febraury 25, Israel was responsible for nearly two-thirds of the global toll. More than 60 percent of those killed were Palestinians covering developments in Gaza. The Israeli military has said journalists were not deliberately targeted.
