New Delhi, July 21 -- In a major political development, Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar has resigned from his post with immediate effect, citing health concerns and the need to follow medical advice.

In his resignation letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, Dhankhar stated that he is stepping down in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Indian Constitution. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President for her consistent support and the cordial working relationship they shared during his tenure.
