Srinagar, April 24 -- Stepping up its offensive against the narcotics trade, Srinagar Police on Thursday pressed its specialised Narcotic Dog Squad into service across multiple vulnerable locations in the district, officials said.
The move, part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, saw trained sniffer dogs strategically positioned at key checkpoints to detect hidden contraband and assist in the swift apprehension of drug peddlers, they said.
"The deployment of the canine squad has significantly enhanced our on-the-spot detection capabilities and strengthened ground-level enforcement," a police spokesperson said.
