Srinagar, May 12 -- Stepping up its war against narcotics, District Police Srinagar has registered 101 drug cases and arrested 143 persons as part of the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan'.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the police have attached 15 properties-both movable and immovable-valued at over ?21.54 crore under anti-drug laws. Additionally, 35 vehicles used in drug peddling have been seized.

Significant contraband was recovered during the drive, including 1.299 kg of heroin, 5.540 kg of charas, over 24 kg of ganja, and 12,642 psychotropic tablets/capsules. Cash amounting to ?4.13 lakh was seized from possession, while 42 bank accounts with over ?30 lakh frozen he said.
