Srinagar, Sept. 12 -- The Sopore Working Journalists Association (SWJA) on Friday constituted a body to represent and strengthen the voice of journalists working in the region.

In a statement issued, Lone Mehraj (ANN News) was unanimously elected President, while Aabid Nabi (Daily Excelsior) was chosen Vice President. Suhail Khan will serve as Secretary, Waris Fayaz (KNO - News Agency) as Spokesperson and Mohammed Ayoub as Treasurer.

The association reiterated its commitment to upholding free, fair and responsible journalism while working collectively for the welfare of its members.
