Srinagar, April 13 -- The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has suspended a senior lecturer from a government higher secondary school in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district following an intervention by the local MLA.

An order issued by the DSEK accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) stated that Ghulam Hassan Mir, Senior Lecturer in Urdu at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sopore, has been attached to BHSS Badugam in Gurez, Bandipora, pending an inquiry into his conduct.

The Joint Director (North) has been appointed as the inquiry officer and has been directed to submit a report to the Directorate within 15 days, officials said on Monday.
